Auchmithie is a former fishing village in Angus, Scotland, three miles north east of the town of Arbroath. This old village is a beautiful part of the east coast and is enriched in history. It perches between over-hanging sandstone cliffs and has steep paths to the shore. I love exploring the old harbour which is now crumbling in places but this adds to its charm. I called this painting ‘The Rise of Auchmithie’ as I wanted to emphasise the stormy waters eating away at the surrounding cliffs and harbour yet Auchmithie is still surviving the test of time.
THIS IS A FRAMED PRINT - FINAL SIZES MAY VARY VERY SLIGHTLY
